Malye Karely is a village 25 km away from Arkhangelsk.  Near the village is a museum of wooden architecture and folk art.  Museum is divided into 4 parts that represent architectural styles of various areas in the Arkhangelsk region - Mezen, Kargopol, Onega, Pinega, Dvina.

Besides houses, there are also several windmills in the museum.  During traditional Russian Orthodox  holidays, such as Christmas, Mardi Gras, Easter and others, bells' chimes can be heard.  A tearoom offers visitors a cup of tea with blini.   There are also traditional swings and folk games that can be played.

Museum is open for admission daily except Tuesday.  Hours: in winter, 10 am - 3 pm, in summer, 10 am - 5 pm.
